Privacy
Coperni is a public, free site: no registration, no advertising and no profiling, and we do not ask for cookie consent because we only use the cookies needed for the site to work. Below you find in detail which data is involved when you use it.
Data controller
Marco Pavanelli (azuki-beans). For any request about your data write to privacy@azukibeans.dev.
Cookies and data stored in the browser
Only technical cookies, which require no consent. None is shared with third parties.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
centro (cookie) | the last place you looked at, to start again from there | 1 year |
django_language (cookie) | your language, if you pick it from the menu | 1 year |
coperni.lato (browser storage) | map preference: area | until you delete them |
If you use the ⌖ "my position" button, the browser asks for your permission and rounds the
coordinates to about 1 km before sending them: your exact position never leaves your device.
The rounded coordinates end up in the page address and in the centro cookie.
Data collected by the server
Like any website, the server receives your IP address, browser type, the requested page (with the place or coordinates) and the referring page. This data goes into the technical logs of Google Cloud (Cloud Run, data centre in Belgium), is used only to run the site and fix problems, and is deleted automatically after 30 days.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics: it uses no cookies or device identifiers and only returns aggregate statistics (page views, country, browser type).
External services
To show the map your browser connects directly to some external services, which therefore receive your IP address like any website does:
- OpenFreeMap: the map background;
- jsDelivr and unpkg: the page libraries (map, charts);
- Cloudflare: visit counting.
Google and Cloudflare may also process data in the United States: both are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, recognised as adequate by the European Commission.
Legal basis
Legitimate interest in running the site, keeping it secure and knowing how much it is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use the data for other purposes, do not sell it and do not combine it with other sources.
Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or object to the processing (Arts. 15–22 GDPR) by writing to the address above. You can delete cookies and preferences at any time from your browser settings. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country or with the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
