The project
Coperni shows the air we breathe, now and over the next hours, around an Italian municipality, a European city or your own location. The map shows how pollutants are spread across the area; the charts show how the past week went and what is forecast for the next two days.
Why
Air quality data exists and is public, but it is usually hard to consult: technical files, expert portals, monitoring stations scattered across the territory. Coperni takes the forecasts of the European Copernicus programme and makes them readable at a glance, comparing them with the European reference thresholds.
What you will find
- Map: the area around the chosen place, divided into cells of about 10 km. The stronger the cell, the more polluted the air. Tap a cell to read its value.
- Charts: the average trend of the area over the last 7 days and the forecast up to 48 hours ahead.
- To change area, search for a town or city at the top, or use the ⌖ button to go to your location.
